The Super Bowl has had its day, and now it’s time to set our sights on the Winter Olympics. In particular, we want to take the time to highlight and celebrate the amazing women representing our country at this year’s Olympics.

All geared up for the Opening Olympic Ceremony Thursday night in PyeongChang, South Korea, Team USA is comprised of some beyond-inspiring females.

The speed-skating team alone has caused quite some buzz with Erin Jackson, 25, and Maame Biney, 18, shattering the proverbial glass ceiling by becoming the first African-American women to qualify for the U.S. Speedskating Team.

The women’s Olympic Hockey team similarly looks to be shaping up in top-notch condition. Twenty years following the 1998 introduction of the women’s team, will the team comprised of Hilary Knight, 28, Meghan Duggan, 30, and the Lamoreux twins (Monique and Joceylne, 28) – be able to take the gold? We think so!

Lindsay Vonn, 33, and Mikaela Shiffrin, 22, are returning to the Olympic slopes as well– and to say we’re excited is an understatement!

Check out some pictures of other amazing female Olympians representing our country and be sure to catch the Opening Ceremony Thursday at 7pm Central Time.
