Deacon’s New South, the ninth and newest dining concept from A. Marshall Family Foods, opens its doors to the public for their soft opening on October 18. Located just down the road from popular fellow A. Marshall establishment, Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, at Nashville’s L&C Tower, the new restaurant does not disappoint.

A modern Southern steakhouse named after A. Marshall’s founder Andy Marshall’s college-era nickname, the space boasts two bars, ample dining space both public and private, a lounge, an exposed kitchen, and a prominent walk-in dry-aging room.

The sleek, modern, art-deco design of the space immediately makes you feel like you’ve picked the right place for a meal in “It City.”

While the look and feel of Nashville’s newest restaurant are certainly sufficient to allure both locals and tourists, the menu is the real draw. With starters such as Chicken Fried Lobster Tail, Oysters, Charcuterie, and some Southern-staple Yeast Skillet rolls with honey butter, you should go ahead and plan on a full-course meal.

In addition to the eight varieties of aged-in-house, wood-fired grilled steaks, the menu offers entrees such as Deacon’s Bacon Burger with a roasted shallot creme fraiche, Bourbon Short Ribs, Braised Tennessee Rabbit, and many more mouth-watering options.

While you’re undeniably going to want to sample one of everything, trust me that you must save room for dessert. Chocolate cola cake, Apple jack stacks, Lemon ice box pie breakdowns, and a house selection of sorbets and ice creams are just some of the sweets that await you at Deacon’s New South.

The two bars in Deacon’s are worth visiting in their own right. With one main-house-bar amidst the main dining area and dry-aging room, you can enjoy a cocktail of your choice amidst the hustle and bustle. Alternatively, you may opt for heading straight to the back nearer the private dining space and lounge area and enjoying a beverage at the back bar.

Whatever your cravings heading into Deacon’s and however large your appetite, you’ll surely be making a return trip.

While October 18 will see the soft opening of Deacon New South’s doors on Church Street to Nashville’s public, the grand opening of the restaurant is set for Nov. 1 after a ribbon-cutting to take place at 3p.m..

The grand opening celebration will feature a self-guided wine-tasting, a private lunch giveaway of $1,000 value, and a chance to win a personalized wine locker.

You can find Deacon’s New South at 401 Church Street in Nashville and visit their website HERE.
