Yarn Paintings: In this session, students will begin by taping a piece of contact paper to the table at each of its four corners, sticky side up. Students will use yarn in their choice of colors to make designs on the contact paper. Yarn can easily be lifted and reapplied differently. Students will be encouraged to use lots of different colors and lengths of yarn to make their composition more interesting. When the entire sheet of contact paper is full of yarn and the student is happy with their composition, remove tape from corners and apply a second sheet of contact paper on top to keep it all together. This session will run from 10:00––11:00 a.m. and is intended for students at a Beginner level. Mandalas: In this session, students will be provided with six circle templates of various sizes. Students will begin by tracing the largest circle. Within that circle, students will trace the next biggest circle, and continue on until they finish tracing the smallest circle. Images of traditional and contemporary mandalas will be distributed across the tables for inspiration. Students will use a pencil to draw a unique pattern, object, or shape in each ring until their mandala is filled. Students will use markers in colors of their choice to outline & color in their mandala drawing. This session will run from 11:30 a.m. –– 12:30 p.m. and is intended for students at an Advanced level.
