Wide Circle Weekend | July 12-14
Art and Soul Studio
Fri, Jul 12 10:00 am
In the tradition of our past offerings of “Long Circle,” we’ve re-envisioned the weekend immersion experience and entitled it Wide Circle Weekend – an opportunity for sustained artmaking within community, facilitated by a team of teachers, designed to deepen and stretch your creative practice while being encouraged and inspired by fellow artists. Facilitators provide opportunities to connect with and drop down into to the unconscious, the here and now, the dream-space, and the flow – a river of urge and desire, never the same twice, but alive with possibility, energy and nourishment. Wide Circle, offered five times a year, is designed for those students who have completed CADP (Creative Arts Discovery and Practice) and who seek a more sustained and robust, deeper dive into the Art & Soul practices folded into focused individual art-making. The bulk of the weekend is dedicated to individual worktime, with break-out circles of experiential learning and connection. Process-focused play, movement, sounding, writing, meditation, breath-work, and non-judgmental witnessing weave a framework within which all artistic explorations, urges, imaginings and endeavors are welcomed and honored. It is rigor and play, circle and soul, tangle and unwind, seek and find. Students should bring a water bottle, journal, snacks and sack lunches, as well as art supplies, materials, and ongoing projects with which they want to work. Art & Soul studio supplies will be available as well. July 12-14, 10 am - 6 pm.
