H&M, Hennes and Mauritz Inc., a global fashion retailer with stores at the CoolSprings Galleria and at Opry Mills, has announced plans to build a 27,000 square foot store at the Fifth + Broadway development in downtown Nashville.

The new location at Fifth + Broadway — the former site of the Nashville Convention Center — is set to open in the fall of 2019.

The new H&M will offer collections for ladies, men and teens and the H&M Kids collection for newborns to 14 year olds. Separate “store within a store” sections will offer accessories.

H&M plans to employ a staff of about 30 at the Fifth + Broadway location.

According to the company, about 16,000 employees staff the 483 U.S. locations.

In 2017, H&M was the highest ranked fashion retailer on Forbes America’s Best Employers list and was named on Business of Fashion’s list of Best Companies to Work for in Fashion. For available job opportunities, visit career.hm.com.

Sustainability is an integral part of H&M. In 2013, H&M launched Garment Collecting, an in-store clothing recycling project and was the first global fashion company to implement such a program.  In 2016 alone, H&M U.S. diverted over two million lbs. of unwanted textiles from landfills.

H&M opened the doors to its first U.S. store 17 years ago.
