I’m obsessing over pillows. Specifically, pillows for my new neutral sofas.
When I ordered the sofas (two identical cream beauties that I planned to arrange facing each other in our family room) I was euphoric.
Please don’t tell my hubs, but when they arrived, I freaked. They looked like big, looming blobs of nothingness. And the cream was suddenly blindingly white. I feigned delight, but secretly worried I had made an expensive mistake.
A few Pinterest hours logged later and I had a eureka moment. These two blobs of nothingness would be the perfect canvas for accessories in the way of throws and pillows.
I headed to my favorite home decor shop, Maxi B. Home in Brentwood and fell madly in love with four pillows. One set, a modified ikat in a deep inky blue and the other duo, a luxe pillow with blue velvet and flanged edges.
I scurried home and plopped the pillows on the sofas. Suddenly, the room had focus and personality. The blue feels fresh and classic at once, but I am already planning on introducing a touch of hot pink for spring, barn red for summer and maybe burnt orange for fall and start a pillow wardrobe.
