When Kevin Coll found himself out to dinner with friends, all couples, the single man jokingly asked if they had any single girl friends to end his third wheel status. Luckily, they had his perfect match in mind.

“Some of my friends asked me to come watch the UT versus Michigan game. I am a huge sports fan, so I went. But I didn’t realize it was a set up,” laughs Sarah Sharp Coll.

Kevin and Sarah chatted at the sports bar, and later, Kevin “just happened” to show up at a few of Sarah’s church group functions.

“After a few weeks of bumping into each other, he finally asked me out. And that was that,” says Sarah.

Something Old, Something New

When planning her wedding, Sarah wanted to follow the “something old, something new” adage.  Her something old was a family treasure.

“My great-grandfather was in World War II. While he was in Europe, he bought a piece of lace and brought it home for his daughter, my grandmother, who hadn’t even been born yet. My grandmother had it made into her wedding veil and wore it. My mother and all of her sisters wore it, and then I was blessed to wear it,” says Coll.

All of the groomsmen wore super hero socks, with Kevin sporting Captain America on his wedding day.

“Kevin is known for never wearing normal socks. And he loves superheroes. We gifted all the groomsmen fun socks to wear on our wedding day. Everything from Batman to Spiderman and Superman,” says Sarah.

Sarah and Kevin were married at Brentwood United Methodist Church. Sarah’s youth minister officiated the ceremony.

For her bridal bouquet, Sarah worked with Jan Giordino of Making Arrangements Florist. They chose all white flowers, roses and lilies mixed with greenery.

A chartered trolley took wedding guests from the church to the reception at The Barn at Loveless Cafe.

The wedding dinner, catered by Loveless Events and Catering, included  pulled pork, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and famous Loveless biscuits.

After dinner, the bride, groom and guests danced to Cosmo Creation Entertainment DJ Josh Rose at The Barn.

The cake was made by Dulce Desserts, four layers alternating vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting and fresh strawberries and chocolate chip cake with chocolate ganache.

Wedding guests were treated to personalized coozies as take-home favors.

The happy couple left among sparklers and well wishes.
