According to the Music City Doulas, a local group of hand-selected, professionally trained and mentored doulas, 1 in 3 families do not have enough diapers for their baby.

Nashville is no exception. The average income of the families our local diaper bank serves is $5,600 a year!

In an effort to support these families in Middle Tennessee, Music City Doulas has teamed up with Nashville Diaper Connection to host the Diaper Dash 5K & Diaper Drive on May 19.

Nashville Diaper Connection is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising awareness to the diaper need in America and closing the diaper gap in Nashville. The goal for this years fundraiser and diaper drive is to collect 150,000 diapers.

While you can support the cause through donating money and spreading the word, if you wish to start your weekend off on the right foot- register for the race HERE.

Run, walk, or dance your way across the finish line. Strollers are also welcome for the race! Packet pick up begins at 6:30am and the 5k race begins promptly at 7:30am.

If you wish to donate to the diaper drive, there are several locations to drop off around Nashville that you can find HERE. Disposable diapers of all sizes are needed and open packages are accepted.

The challenge that Music City Doulas are posing to everyone is as follows:

Could you choose between buying diapers or paying rent or buying food for your family?

If not, or if you have the conviction that no one ought to make that impossible choice, we hope you’ll choose to participate in this wonderful event in whatever capacity you can!
