No wedding is ever really small.

A wedding is a big deal to the couple marrying, no matter how many guests that choose to include. In fact, a diminutive wedding can be all the more romantic and special because of the intimacy a select few evoke.

The problem with small weddings is often finding a venue that doesn’t dwarf the wedding party. A church meant to seat hundreds makes a wedding party of 50 seem forlorn. A reception in a massive venue feels equally unbalanced.

Mere Bulles, a historic restaurant in Brentwood, has a mission to make small equal spectacular when it comes to weddings.

“We can have a beautiful wedding on the balcony for around 40 people. I have several booked for this year already,” says Pam Kemp, wedding coordinator for Mere Bulles.

For wedding receptions, the historic style estate, built in 1942 accommodates up to 250 guests. And by accommodate, Kemp is quick to say “pamper” when it comes to receptions.

“When you have a wedding reception here, we supply a beautiful buffet-style meal, the alcohol, all the table linens and even the centerpieces,” says Kemp.

From linens to food and drink, a wedding reception at Mere Bulles is all inclusive.

Buying out the entire historic venue, with food, alcohol, colored table linens of your choice, votives and centerpieces, bar and wait staff for 250 guests is $15,000.

“Some brides want to handle every detail. And some want to choose their menu and be done. We make receptions painless, no matter how big or how small,” laughs Kemp, who is always on site for weddings and wedding receptions.

When it comes to choosing food, the options are nearly limitless with roasted pork loin with lemon hollandaise sauce to seared salmon with aioli among the offerings a bride and groom might choose.

“Once the contract for the reception is signed, we always offer a tasting for four people. So a bride and groom, and maybe a mom and dad or best man and bridesmaid can sample what will be served at the reception,” Kemp says.

Mere Bulles also has options for weddings and events for 75 people and a room for 40 people to enjoy a private reception.

“Some of the prettiest receptions are small. We don’t care about the size of the event. We believe every wedding reception or rehearsal dinner needs to be spectacular,” Kemp says.

From an intimate reception for 40 to a party for 250, Mere Bulles offers elegance on a large scale. No matter what size your reception.
